Balonne Shire Council received a customised CityRay road sweeper mounted on an Isuzu FSR with dual control, featuring extensive safety enhancements beyond standard specifications. The council prioritised safety measures including a 360-degree camera system with recording, Reverse Watch technology, speed limiter for left-side sweeping, front bulbar, LED lighting systems, window tinting, and a Groeneveld auto greasing system.
The machine's distinctive aspect lies in its multi-functional design. Council staff collaborated with the manufacturer to enable additional capabilities beyond typical sweeping operations. The sweeper was equipped with an oscillating lance for breaking down holes for sign mounting, a 3-inch extraction system with reduction cam lock, and a rear-mounted weed spray unit. This configuration allows simultaneous sweeping and weed spraying, consolidating multiple operational tasks into one vehicle while reducing time and costs.
The twin high-pressure pump system was modified to accommodate these specialised additions, demonstrating custom engineering for specific municipal needs.
