BMI Group selected an Isuzu FVD 165-300 15.5 tonne chassis paired with a CityRay 5 hopper to create a custom road sweeper. Key additions included a 360-camera system, auto greasing system, UHF radio, venturi system, and screen vibrator.
The build process involved multiple stages: chassis modification, hopper mounting using strict safety protocols with spotters and a crane operator, and cab configuration adjustments. The operator Scott, with over 20 years in municipal equipment operation, visited frequently during construction and appreciated the excellent dust suppression features with dual high-pressure pumps and nine water jets per side.
Features highlighted include hydraulic gutter broom tilt, ISRI 6860 air-suspended seats with canvas covers, safety lighting, and a Plant Assessor report provided upon delivery.
